The inspiration behind Tot Tot Fruu is the passion people have for groove and partying. It emphasizes the desire for people to keep grooving until morning and not end the fun earlier. We only go home after the music stops in the morning. It's a song about fun, joy, and dancing through the night. Phuti Makhafola, also known as Phuddy Jay, one of Mamelodi's most innovative musicians, launches his solo career and continues to push the genre ahead. It's nearly relaxing music, but it's powerful enough to slowly drive you insane on the dance floor. It’s coming from the future, and this is now out on PSSNGЯ.

Hello, I am Tshegofatso Motjeng, known as Dikuku Bester on social media platforms. I'm passionate about the arts and music, particularly acting. I take pride in my work, which sustains me. Creating skits was inspired by my community. When I first heard the beat by Official Rsa, I was intrigued. Official Rsa freestyled over his master beat, which led to the creation of the song (‘uhamba no ban what what’). Slidoo man started with the song's intro, and that's how “Uhamba nobany' was born. Tshwara means to give & this song does not lack in giving. It gives energy, dance and a hyper mood. The track has some elements of Rough musiQ style through the strong bassline and loud snare. Additionally it gives the quantum sound feel as an extra sauce on top to hype up the song. Quantum sound is a bass sound mostly used by artists in the olden days, like Machance and Mujava, who were among the pioneers of the original sound. Amapiano has now evolved this sound, imitating the old style but incorporating modern piano instruments and other elements with strong and loud basslines. “Just like choosing important and diverse music enriches life's emotional content, dealing with problematic friends is essential for preserving positive connections” TK. The infamous Rough Amapiano pioneers, Toxicated Keys, have returned with the ultimate chapter. Rough MusiQ and heavy bass remain prominent, but the influence of the Sgija and Barcardi scenes, along with Mozambican tastes, can be heard. This album will immerse yourself in deep and warm house grooves, blended with crisp icy drum tracks and toxic basslines. The end result is an outstanding illustration of how versatile and inventive those four members can be when operating together. This new LP adds a fresh depth to Rough MusiQ by balancing contemporary dance tracks and South African roots-oriented songs. It’s coming from the future, and this is now out on PSSNGR.

Umbhoqo Manifesto part 1 is the first album by King Mzaiza Music, a collective created by Umbhoqo pioneer and Skhothane activist King Mzaiza and his crew. This album shows the vast spectrum of what South African Umbhoqo music is about. Uplifting vibes meet industrial roughness and futurism. Braggadocio and larger-than-life personalities blend with township culture and a mindset based on community. This is music to make people dance, belong and protest at the same time. It's simultaneously fun, strong and angry.

Mugwanti" is an old song by DJ Mujava that was popular long before the rise of Amapiano music. The song was fire, featuring a unique blend of old school House and Quantum sound. Our approach was to take the original lyrics and add our own, then remix the song with Amapiano and Pitori Wave, which is Bacardi. This is why you'll hear the lyrics "Mugwanthi Wa Pitori" - we're not entirely sure of the meaning behind "Mugwanthi," but it's a word from the old song that we're bringing back with a fresh new vibe. It’s coming from the future, and this is now out on PSSNGR, always dedicated to promote emerging African electronic music.

After last year’s Abu Wronq Wronq, their first and awesome LP on PSSNGR, Mamelodi East’s GemValleyMusiQ are already back with a new EP called Music Wama Colourd. This new collection of tracks keeps the Rough MusiQ / Rough Amapiano style alive and kicking, but twists it in different ways. There’s a more dancey, trancey, spacey vibe, sometimes coming with a live feel. The clunk bass is still there but most of the time blends with other elements in the mix, resulting in material that deals more with mesmerizing the dancefloor than making it rock right away. It’s Rough MusiQ but with a little less roughness to it. Lovely pads, warm vocals, ecstatic feelings, delicate percussion patterns, slow build-ups : this is what Music Wama Colourd is about and this is beautiful and surprising new turn in GemValleyMusiQ’s career.

PSSNGR is very proud to release King Mzaiza’s new single. Let’s be clear : "Sithi Sithi" could well be a huge Umbhoqo hit, maybe a global one. First, there’s this massive syncopated beat, halfway between Barcardi classic “Township Funk” by Mujava and more contemporary SA sounds like Amapiano and Gqom. Then talented vocalist U-Girl delivers an unbelievable hook, reminiscent of Jamaican female dancehall tunes but with a typical Gauteng flavour. This is the sound of Umbhoqo, this is the sound of Skhothanes ! Then vocalists Fezela, Da Goons and Alligator are rapping their verses in a chill way, contrasting with the excitement of U-Girl’s chorus.

“Dlala Drumo” is the first single taken from Music Wama Colourd, GemValleyMusiQ’s second upcoming LP. A perfect example of the kind of updated Rough MusiQ the Mamelodi East trio wants to showcase in 2023 : two-note motifs and eerie drum patterns move around the clunk bass, with jazzy vamps and sunrise-ready synths. This is music you could almost chill to, but actually mental enough to make you go slowly crazy on the dancefloor. A good way to start the year for GemValleyMusiQ and PSSNGR !

Rough Musiq and clunk bass are still a very strong presence, but you can also hear the influence of Sgija and Barcardi scenes, as well as Mozambican tastes. King Mzaiza is one of the major figures of the South African SKHOTHANE culture. Skhothane means « bragging » in zulu and Skhothanes are young men and women from the townships who love to wear Italian high end fashion and Italian cycling apparel, and have their own lifestyle, with their own parties, restaurants and shops. Dance and music are also crucial components of this subculture, that has been known in SA since more than twenty years now. PSSNGR is proud to release a single by Mzaiza feat. Fafastra & U-Girl : "Isikhalo Sikalova". Following the release of "Zaka Zaka" and “Monate Ke Monate”, please welcome From Thutlwane to the World, Toxicated Keys’ debut album.
This album is clearly not your average electronic/dance album from 2022 : you won’t hear any ambient, lo-fi, deconstructed or downtempo tracks, nor find spoken-word segments or real instruments playing. There’s no manifest interest in trying to explore unexpected genres and repertoires. You probably won’t find the production luxuriously detailed or rich with nuance and depth : this is 100% straight-up dance music made by two teens, physical and functional. But these nine tracks are radically experimental though, thanks to their sheer freshness and boldness.

Drums of Pitori is a compilation of 7 raw and minimalist kwaito house bombs by South-African producers Machance and DJ Abbas (who passed away in 2008). Machance performed most of the vocals on it himself. The songs were released under the radar on CD between 2005 and 2006, but this compilation is their first official release. Machance, Abbas, and other artists from this scene used to call the genre ‘Sgitjha’, meaning ‘Drums of Pitori’ in Sepitori, the Pretorian urban language. Pitori is Pretoria, the capital of South Africa where they're from. PSSNGR, joins forces with Promesses for this release.
